The Corporate Board Committee invites you to attend an education event on the topic of climate as a critical issue for the board. Our speakers will describe climate change as a serious risk for companies, provide an overview of the regulatory environment, and discuss the concerns of investors and stakeholders. We are excited to have Steven Rothstein, managing director, Ceres Accelerator for Sustainable Capital Markets, Judith Judson, Head of US Strategy at National Grid, and Mitali Prasad, Portfolio Manager at Trillium Asset Management as featured speakers. Please join us for this ESG climate focused topic and the opportunity to participate in a Q&A with our esteemed speakers.

Speakers:

Steven M. Rothstein, Managing Director, Ceres Accelerator for Sustainable Capital Markets

Steven is the founding Managing Director of the Ceres Accelerator for Sustainable Capital Markets.  Ceres Accelerator aims to transform the practices and policies that govern capital markets in order to accelerate reduction of the worst financial impacts of the climate crisis and other sustainability threats. Steven’s 40 years of experience will be critical to explore the most effective strategies for the Accelerator to focus on and move capital markets towards climate sustainability.

Judith Judson, National Grid, Vice President, Head of US Strategy and Head of Hydrogen

Judith leads corporate strategy for National Grid’s US utility businesses which serve 20 million people with electricity and gas in New York and New England.  Judith sets the vision, drives the strategy, and facilitates key business decisions, including multi-billion dollar investments and M&A activity.  Judith led the development of National Grid’s Clean Energy Vision for a fossil free future, announced in April 2022, to fully eliminate fossil fuels from National Grid’s gas and electric systems by 2050.  While continuing to lead US corporate strategy, in May 2022, Judith was appointed to head a new business line for National Grid Ventures for the commercial development of green hydrogen.  Prior to National Grid, Judith most recently served in top government positions in Massachusetts, as Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources and as Chair of the Massachusetts Public Utilities Commission.  In these roles, Ms. Judson led the development of nation-leading energy policies and utility programs for solar, storage, offshore wind, energy efficiency, and electric vehicles.  Judith also currently serves on the Boards of the Northeast Clean Energy Council and Transgas, the largest gas transportation company in the northeast.
