KEYNOTE SPEAKER:
Sharon Bowen, Chair of the Board of the New York Stock Exchange

Sharon Bowen joined the Board of the Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE: ICE) in 2017 and has served as Chair of the Board of Directors of the New York Stock Exchange since December 2021. She is the first woman or person of color to serve as the NYSE Chair. In addition, she Co-Chairs the NYSE Board Advisory Council.
Ms. Bowen was the first African American to be appointed as Commissioner of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), where she served from 2014-2017. She currently sits on the boards of Akamai Technologies, serving on its Audit and ESG Committees, Neuberger Berman, serving as Chair of its Audit Committee, and Bakkt Trust, serving as Chair. She is a partner of Seneca Women, a global leadership platform dedicated to connecting and advancing women in the economy.
Her professional career began as an attorney and she became a partner at Latham & Watkins. In February 2010, she was also appointed by President Barack Obama as Vice Chair of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation. She assumed the role of Acting Chair in March 2012.
Ms. Bowen holds a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia and Juris Doctor-MBA degrees from Northwestern University.

Wendy Woods, Boston Consulting Group’s Vice Chair, Social Impact, Climate & Sustainability
Wendy Woods, Boston Consulting Group’s Vice Chair, Social Impact, Climate and Sustainability, has worked extensively across Europe, Africa and Asia. Prior to joining BCG, she worked as consultant for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and as Senior Economist for the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Based in BCG’s Boston office, Ms. Woods has responsibility for BCG's work in climate and sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion, sustainable and innovative finance, global health & development, education, and humanitarian response.
Ms. Woods is passionate about improving cooperation across the private, public, and social sectors to help solve the world's most intractable problems, as highlighted in her TED talk, “The business benefits of doing good”, and helping businesses achieve sustainability and competitive advantage, as described in her second TED talk, "Collective cooperation in the social sector”. She is a frequent contributor to BCG’s thought leadership, recently coauthoring Total Societal Impact: A New Lens for Strategy, Winning the '20s: Optimize for Both Social and Business Value: Beyond Shareholder Value, and Directors Can Up Their Game on Environmental, Social, and Governance Issues: The BCG-INSEAD Board ESG Pulse Check.
Ms. Woods is a member of the Advisory Council for the Tent Partnership for Refugees and the Elevate Prize Foundation, as well as a board member for OpenSC, a company focused on creating transparent, verified sustainable and fair wage supply chains. She earned a BA in economics from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Michelle Wu, Mayor of Boston
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu is a daughter of immigrants, a Boston Public Schools mom, and an MBTA commuter. She was sworn into office in November 2021–the first woman and first person of color elected to serve in this role, championing a vision of Boston as a green and growing city for everyone.
To support and stabilize Boston’s continued economic recovery, Mayor Wu has focused on deploying emergency grants to neighborhood small businesses, taking action to revitalize Downtown Boston through citywide collaborations, and signing executive orders to speed up affordable housing development approvals and ensure that Boston’s municipal contracting reaches the city’s supplier diversity goals to build community wealth.
Mayor Wu is working in partnership across every level of government, with businesses, and in community, to make Boston the leading city where families and businesses can thrive. Her focus is on investing in infrastructure for the public good—transportation, housing, health, and education—to ensure that Boston is ready for the jobs of the future.
